Personal Statement:
I grew up wanting to be a teacher and planned on that throughout high school. When the time came to pick a college and a major, I had to intentionally think about what I wanted out of a career. That reflection led me to pursuing business. I began my business journey at a public university as a business administration major. During that experience, I realized that school didn't feel like my home, and I decided to transfer to Bryant. I was able to explore different business majors. I started as an entrepreneurship major, thought a little bit about accounting and finally decided to major in marketing and minor in communications. After college, I worked in human resources and project management, but I always felt like something was missing. Again, I took the time to intentionally think about what I want in a career, and I realized I still wanted to pursue education. I took a leap of faith and made the decision to attend graduate school, where I received my Master of Education in higher education in student affairs. During my graduate program, I tested out different areas within this field, finding out what I loved to do. As much as I enjoyed the business world, my heart was always with education.
