Minor in Sociology and Anthropology

The minor in sociology and anthropology is designed for students from other disciplines who wish to augment their major field of study with a nuanced understanding of culture. To complete the minor, students take a minimum of six courses (18 credits).

Required courses:

  • SOA110: The Sociological Imagination, or, SOA130: Anthropology: Interpreting Cultural Differences
  • SOA311: Social Theory
  • SOA335: Global Capital
  • Three upper-level sociology and anthropology electives, chosen in consultation with the chair of the Department of Cultural, Environmental and Global Studies.
