Minor in Music

To minor in music, a student must first be interviewed and accepted by a designated member of the faculty. To complete the minor, students take a minimum of 18 credits, and the program must be approved in advance by the department chair.

Required courses:

  • MSC211: Theory I
  • MSC212: Theory II
  • One course in music history
  • Nine credits in individual music lessons and performing ensembles

Minors are required to participate in at least one large ensemble and perform in student recitals and juries each semester.
