Adopt-a-Spot maintenance days

Help care for our Adopt-a-Spot garden in Eisenhower Park by watering and weeding the flowerbeds. The park is in Washington Square, a quick trolley ride away from Salve Regina. Maintenance takes place from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, and members of the University community are encouraged to consider supporting this initiative on a regular basis.

Monday, Jan. 16: God's Community Garden

Volunteers are needed from noon to 3 p.m. to harvest the gardens during the first MLK day of service at Community Methodist Gardens.
Transportation: Van transportation is provided. Pick up at Miley Hall at 11:45 a.m., return at 3 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 25: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center

Volunteers are needed from 4:30-7 p.m. to help with setup, arts and crafts, and cleanup for a family dinner night at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
Transportation: Van transportation is provided. Pick up at Miley Hall at 4:15 p.m., return at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 4: Clean Ocean Access

Volunteers are needed from noon to 2 p.m. to help Clean Ocean Access with a cleanup at Sachuest (Second) Beach.
Transportation: Van transportation is provided. Pick up at Miley Hall at 11:45 a.m., return at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 7: Emmanuel Church soup kitchen

Volunteers are needed from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to set up, work and clean up the soup kitchen.

Tuesday, Feb. 14: St. Paul’s Warm Up Wednesday

Volunteers are needed from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Mercy Center kitchen to make sweet treats for St. Paul’s Church’s Warm Up Wednesday program. All baking supplies will be provided.

Volunteers are needed from noon to 2 p.m. to help Clean Ocean Access with this Earth Day cleanup on the Cliff Walk. Volunteers will meet at the Marine Avenue entrance.

Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 12: End of Year Drive

Volunteers are needed in Wakehurst to collect and sort donations for the End of Year Drive. Volunteers may sign up in shifts: 10 a.m. to noon and/or 1-3 p.m. On Friday, May 12, math-savvy volunteers are also needed to check out customers at the presale event.

Saturday, May 13: End of Year Drive

Volunteers are needed in Wakehurst to help with the End of Year Drive. Shifts are 6-8 a.m. (setup), 8-10 a.m. (checkout), 10 a.m. to noon (checkout) and noon to 2 p.m.
