Center for Teaching and Learning
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides programs and resources to support faculty members' teaching goals. We can help faculty integrate new technologies into their teaching, explore different pedagogical approaches, or connect with other faculty members with similar teaching interests or concerns.
The CTL has several tables with power and computer connections, a Smartboard and projector for meetings, a small conference table, and several lab computers with specialty software for developing technology-rich course materials. To schedule a department or committee meeting in the space, please contact the director.
The CTL provides one-on-one consultations to determine learning goals and match tools to the goals, hands-on training in software applications, and workshops and guidance in using technology to make teaching more effective and improve student learning outcomes.
Faculty may also join our Tech Tester team. The CTL has equipment such as iPads, eReaders, voice recorders, and clickers that can be borrowed and utilized in teaching or professional development.
The CTL provides or sponsors several different programs throughout the year for your professional development. Details are announced on the blog, in the newsletter and via email.
We offer hands-on training sessions for Canvas and Turnitin. These sessions are held in a computer classroom and have limited space availability. You must pre-register for these sessions. You can see available sessions on the training calendar.
The CTL has a library of resource books and journals available for borrowing. We also have access to many online sites and journals that can assist you. If you have a resource you would like to suggest, fill out this form.
