As working professionals, our alumni and parents possess invaluable knowledge and experience that can benefit our students. We maintain an active network of alumni and parent volunteers who have offered to share their unique career insight and expertise with undergraduates and fellow alumni.
Alumni and parents are invited to connect with students through the following opportunities:
- Career shadowing initiative: Host a student in your office for a one- or two-day shadowing visit, allowing the student to learn about your job, company and industry by experiencing a professional’s typical workday.
- Informational interviews: Discuss your work experience and career path through a conversation with a student by email, phone or in person.
- Career panels and programs: Share the details of your profession and offer general career advice by participating on a career panel.
- Recruiting: Submit current job and internship listings for students; simply forward information to the Office of Career Development at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Finally, alumni who would like assistance with their own career development plans are encouraged to contact our office at (401) 341-2913 to schedule an appointment with one of our advisers.
