Salve Regina's Certificate of Graduate Studies (CGS) programs provide students with opportunities for professional development without the formal pursuit of a graduate degree.

CGS in Nonprofit Management

The CGS in nonprofit management is designed for students who wish to develop their management skills in the nonprofit sector. To earn this certificate, students must successfully complete four courses (12 credits) on issues related to the management of nonprofit organizations.

  • Nonprofit Financial Management
  • Marketing and Fundraising for Nonprofits
  • Nonprofit Management
  • Human Resources Management

CGS in Management

The CGS in management is designed for individuals who wish to further hone their leadership skills. To earn this certificate, students must successfully complete four courses (12 credits) on topics in management.

Required courses:

  • Management and Organizational Theory
  • Social and Ethical Issues: A Global Perspective
  • Two electives in management

CGS in Human Resources Management

The CGS in human resources management is designed for individuals who want to understand how to achieve organizational goals while addressing ethical and legal concerns. To earn this certificate, students must successfully complete four courses (12 credits) on topics in management.

Required courses:

  • Human Resources Management
  • Social and Ethical Issues: A Global Perspective
  • Labor Relations
  • Special Topics

CGS in Organizational Development

The CGS in organizational development is designed for individuals whose role requires them to analyze an organization’s effectiveness and facilitate its transformation in order to work more efficiently. To earn this certificate, students must successfully complete four courses (12 credits) on topics in management and holistic studies.

Students choose four of the following courses:

  • Management and Organizational Theory
  • Global Quality Management: ISO9001
  • Social and Ethical Issues: A Global Perspective
  • Organizational Development
  • Special Topics

CGS in Holistic Leadership and Management

The CGS in holistic leadership and change management is designed for individuals who wish to further hone their leadership skills. To earn this certificate, students must successfully complete four courses (12 credits) on topics in holistic leadership and management.

Required courses:

  • Introduction to Holistic Leadership Perspectives
  • Leading Holistically
  • Two of the following: Management and Organizational Theory, Human Resources Management, Social and Ethical Issues: A Global Perspective, Organizational Development

CGS in Leadership and Change Management

The CGS in holistic leadership and change management is designed for individuals who wish to develop the communication, leadership and problem-solving skills needed to facilitate change within an organization. To earn this certificate, students must successfully complete four courses (12 credits) on topics in holistic leadership and management.

Required courses:

  • Introduction to Holistic Leadership Perspectives
  • One of the following: Psychology of Group Process, Laboratory in Interpersonal Communication Skills, Leading Holistically
  • Two of the following: Creative Problem Solving, Global Quality Management, Organizational Development

CGS in Business Studies

The CGS in business studies allows students to design an individualized course of study aimed at meeting their personal and career goals. To learn more about this certificate option, students should contact the program director.
