Humanities (M.A.)

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in humanities at Salve Regina helps students hone the analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for success in such fields as education, business and social services.

Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, our program explores complex questions about the human condition and provides insight into how we understand ourselves and our role in today’s world.

We accomplish this through an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates core classes in the humanities - arts, ethics, history, language and literature, philosophy, religion - with elective courses in such areas as holistic counseling, international relations and rehabilitation counseling.

Our faculty works closely with students to tailor the program to complement their undergraduate background, work experience and personal and career goals. And, students have opportunities to further enhance their individualized focus through internships and independent studies.

To meet the time demands of our working students, we offer classes at our Newport campus and online.
