sociology and anthropology prepare students for future employment in an increasingly
globalized world. Our graduates possess an ability to analyze the larger
economic and political forces that give rise to social problems, allowing them
to apply this knowledge in a variety of employment settings. Graduates also
acquire the sensitivity required to work with people from a variety of cultural

Red Cross, medical and health care fields, government agencies, immigration
services, cultural resource management and community health education.

Sociology and anthropology coursework emphasizes and
cultivates critical reading, writing and thinking skills, preparing students
for graduate work in medicine, law, public policy, international relations,
social work and the biological sciences.
