What's My Why?

I am committed to empowering students to transform health care and make a meaningful impact, fostering a more ethical, compassionate and equitable health care system. As a first-generation Latina, I celebrate my Puerto Rican heritage and strive to create an inclusive and accessible learning environment. At Salve, I am inspired by the holistic education that prepares students for responsible, ethical lives, emphasizing justice, compassion and service to others. These core values align perfectly with the fundamental principles of healthcare, guiding students to lead with integrity and work towards systemic change.

Professional Experience

I am an experienced professional in health care administration, nonprofit management and community engagement, with expertise in oral health, aging services, peer grant review and higher education. I have presented at the National Council on Aging, AARP Rhode Island, Age-Friendly Rhode Island and the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives. In addition to my role at Salve, I serve as a board member of the Women’s Resource Center of Newport and Bristol Counties.
