Career Development in the Classroom

We invite you to keep our career advisors in mind for classroom visits. We would be happy to visit your class and discuss topics related to career development. These may include the following, but we are happy to work with you to coordinate programming that fits with your curriculum.

  • Major and career exploration
  • Resume and cover letter development
  • Internship and job search assistance
  • Interview and networking preparation or mock interviews
  • Graduate school exploration and application support

Please let us know if you have a specific career-related topic in mind, otherwise we would be happy to present a general overview of our office's resources and services to your class.

If you are interested in our class visits program, contact us at (401) 341-2913 or career@salve.edu.

Career and Networking Events

We coordinate a number of targeted career programs throughout the academic year. These include events like our career connections nights, a series of networking events targeted to specific majors. If you are interested in coordinating a career or networking event for your students, contact us at (401) 341-2913 or career@salve.edu.

Professional and Alumni Relations

If an alumni or professional contact is interested in connecting with our office, or if someone has shared an internship or job opportunity that you would like us to advertise through Handshake, email career@salve.edu.

Additionally, as part of our goal to collect first destination data for our recent graduates, we hope that you will share any information you receive from alumni about their current employment. To share this information with our office, email us at career@salve.edu.

Handshake

Handshake is an online database where students and alumni can search for full-time, part-time and internship opportunities. Thousands of employers post their positions on Handshake. Students also can post their resumes, register for career events and sign up for on-campus interviews.

For more information about posting student employment positions or using Handshake with your students, please see our Handshake webpage.
