Education:

B.A. in English literature, Providence College (1987)
M.S. in administration of justice and homeland security, concentration in cybersecurity and intelligence, Salve Regina University (2016)

Professional Experience:

I am a 33-year veteran of law enforcement and served as a local police officer and trooper with the Rhode Island State Police. I served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer in both Desert Storm and Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait City and Iraq.

Before retiring from the Rhode Island State Police, I was the officer in charge of the State Police Computer Crimes Task Force and the State Police Fusion Center and later as the State Police Detective Division Commander. I was an integral part in forming the first Rhode Island Joint Cyber Task Force, which is a public-private partnership that was created to protect private and public cyber infrastructure. The task force was later recognized as a model and adapted by other states to create their own partnerships.

I am an EnCase-certified digital forensic examiner and I currently live with my wife Sandra in Port St Lucie, Florida. We are the proud parents of two adult children, Emma and William.
