Major in Mathematics and Secondary Education (B.A.S.)

To earn the double major in mathematics and secondary education, students complete the courses required for a B.A. in mathematics (41 credits) and must also meet the requirements for secondary education. Coursework is designed to meet the standards published by the Mathematical Association of America.

Required courses:

  • Discrete Mathematics
  • Calculus III
  • Linear Algebra
  • Differential Equations
  • Analysis I and II
  • Geometry
  • Abstract Algebra
  • Statistical Theory I and II
  • Scientific Programming
  • Principles of Physics I and II

While Calculus I and II are not included in the major requirements, they or their equivalents are prerequisites for several required courses.
