SERVICES AT WAKEHURST

The Wakehurst Student Center serves as a gathering place for the entire campus community and offers a range of facilities and services designed to meet your busy lifestyle and needs. Whether you want to grab a quick bite to eat, check your email or stop by the ATM to get some cash, you can do it all in Wakehurst.

Global Café

The Global Café is operated by Sodexho and features an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that includes bagels, pastries, sandwiches, hamburgers, pizza, salads and value meals similar to those offered by fast food chains. You can choose to eat on the South Porch during pleasant weather, the International Room or the main lobby.

For more information about the Global Café contact Sodexho by calling 341-2926. The Sodexho office is located in Miley Hall adjacent to the Sky Ranch Grill.

Student Mailroom

The student mailroom is located on the garden level of the Wakehurst Student Center. The student mailroom features mailboxes for on-campus students, a post box for out-going mail and a satellite office staffed between 12 and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday when classes are in session (hours subject to change).

The university mailroom is located on the garden level of McKillop Library. Stamps can be purchased in the copy center, also located on the McKillop garden level.

ATM

An ATM owned and operated by BankNewport is conveniently located in the Wakehurst Student Center mailroom. The ATM is available to students, faculty and staff during normal building hours. Bank Newport charges a $2 fee to all non-BankNewport cardholders for withdrawing cash or a cash advance. This fee is added to the amount of your withdrawal and is in addition to any fees that may be charged by your financial institution.

For more information or to report a problem call BankNewport at 1-800-234-8586 or 401-846-3400. The office of student activities and the Wakehurst Student Center are unable to assist you should you experience problems while making an ATM transaction.

Computer Email Stations

Email stations are conveniently located on the garden level and in the Fireplace Lounge. Students, faculty and staff can access the computers during normal business hours. Anyone experiencing a problem with a computer should report it to the office of student activities located in 006 Wakehurst Student Center.

Newspapers & Magazines

Copies of the Boston Globe and Providence Journal are provided on weekdays throughout the academic year, and the Sunday Providence Journal is delivered to the building on Sundays. The papers are distributed throughout the garden level and first floor of the Wakehurst Student Center.

The office of student activities maintains subscriptions to several magazines including Time, Rolling Stone, Premiere, Sports Illustrated, Outside, Travel & Leisure, Vanity Fair, Glamour and Smithsonian. Magazines can be found in the Underground Lounge on the garden level. We ask that the magazines remain in the lounge for the enjoyment of all students, faculty and staff.
