WAKEHURST STUDENT CENTER
Conference Room The conference room features ample space and furniture to meet the needs of most student organization meetings. The room has been fully restored and includes framed prints of the Wakehurst estate from the turn of the 20th century. Seating capacity: 30 (this space can be reserved for private meetings and student-sponsored programs). The Fireplace Lounge features comfortable seating, a 42” plasma TV, two computer stations, piano, stage and permanent lighting for live performances. Seating capacity: 75 (this space can be reserved for student-sponsored programs open to the campus community) The Game Cave, a converted wine cellar, features a 32” color television, XBOX, PlayStation 2, Nintendo 64 game consoles, and stereo surround sound. The Wakehurst Student Center boasts a growing library of XBOX and PlayStation 2 video games. Games and controls may be checked out from the student center office with a valid Salve Regina student ID. Individuals are allowed to supply their own video games. Seating capacity: 4 The Game Room features a fully reconditioned, regulation size Sterling billiard table, air hockey table, foosball table, two tournament dart boards, chess table, seating, color television, and vending machines. Recreation equipment may be checked out from the student center office with a valid Salve Regina student ID. The International Room, adjacent to the Global Café, features café-style tables and chairs with views of the south porch, rose garden and the front lawn. Seating capacity: 40 (this space can be reserved for student-sponsored programs provided they do not interfere with the Global Café’s normal business operations). The Little Theatre can accommodate 35 people and features commercial quality seating (with cup holders), surround sound, big screen television, VCR and DVD player. The theatre is home to the student activities feature and foreign film series, and is a popular place to relax and watch special televised events. Seating capacity: 35 (this space can be reserved for student-sponsored programs open to the campus community) The South Porch, adjacent to the Global Café and International Room, features eight picnic-style tables overlooking the rose garden that separates the Wakehurst Student Center from McKillop Library. A protective awning covers the porch and clear side panels can be closed to protect patrons during inclement weather. Seating capacity: 64 (this space can be reserved for private or open meetings and programs). The Underground Lounge features comfortable seating, two color televisions,
computer email stations, newspapers, magazines and a 50 gallon fish
tank. Stained wainscoting and warm colors create an inviting place for
students to relax and meet with friends. |
