Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) Office

If you have a question or a concern about your F-1 status, see an international student advisor or DSO to obtain information about INS regulations and procedure. Do not go directly to INS.

Make photocopies of all documents before you submit them to INS. It is also recommended that if you mail materials to INS, you send them "certified mail, return receipt requested" to be certain that INS receives them.
