- Get to know your New Student Seminar instructor and Student Mentor; take advantage of your learning community
- Learn about the various resources Salve Regina has to offer and where they are located
- Understand why you are in college
- Work on your time management; set up a daily schedule and stick to it
- Know your learning style
- Assess and improve your study habits
- Introduce yourself to your professors; see them outside of class
- Take advantage of the library
- Get involved in campus activities; join at least one club or organization
- Take your health seriously
- Go to class

The First Year Experience presents incoming students with an integrated model for a happy and fulfilling life based on a balanced approach to wellness in six areas: Intellectual, Emotional, Physical, Spiritual, Social/Cultural and Life Planning. Students are encouraged to explore these areas by engaging and participating in the various wellness programs and activities offered at Salve Regina.
