Recently designated a National Historic Landmark, the former carriage house and stables for the Chateau-sur-Mer estate is a stunning architectural example of the service buildings erected by the builders of Newport's grandest homes. Once restored, the structure will house the Cultural and Historic Preservation Program, including the Community Preservation Laboratory through which students and faculty work to preserve historic properties, and the Department of Art's drawing, painting, sculpting, and ceramics studios, as well as its publicly accessible presentation areas. Wetmore Hall will reopen its doors to students, faculty and the community for the academic year 2007-2008. For information, or to support this project, please contact: Katherine Horoschak
