Staff

Liz Minifie, MSW, LICSW

Liz Minifie is the director of the university counseling center. She is a licensed clinical social worker. She earned her bachelor's degree from Harvard University Extension School. She attended Fordham University School of Social Work in New York City and received her master's degree in social work from Portland State University in Oregon. She has worked with the college population for more than 20 years.

David Dawson holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a master's degree in clinical social work from Smith College School for Social Work. He has experience in various mental health settings, including outpatient mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, state operated residential facilities and college counseling centers at Emory University and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. His areas of interest include students with issues concerning eating, anxiety, relationships, loss, trauma and depression. He is skilled in treating students' anxiety and stress with the aid of biofeedback equipment.

Jamison (Jamie) Landsman earned her master's of social work degree from Boston University, specializing in clinical social work. Since graduation she has worked with all age groups, at a local mental health center, family service agencies and with adolescents in residential treatment. Her areas of interest include trauma work, the treatment of depression, and anxiety, family and relationship issues as well as educational issues.

Samantha Becker earned her bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College and her master's degree in clinical social work from the Smith College School for Social Work. She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and in her postgraduate career she has worked with college students at Mount Holyoke College, SUNY Stony Brook and Wellesley College. In both research and clinical application, she has been interested in the use of mindfulness meditation as a therapeutic technique. She is a strong generalist practitioner whose areas of clinical concentration include women's issues, issues of race and gender, eating disorders, relationship concerns, depression and anxiety. She is available to meet with students on Mondays and Thursdays.
