The USATF-certified 5K (3.1 mile) course starts and finishes on the Salve Regina campus and includes a run through Newport's historic Bellevue Avenue/Ochre Point neighborhood of Gilded Age mansions and spectacular ocean-side landscapes.
Registration
$20 for individual registrations and $15 for current Salve Regina students, team discounts available at $15 per runner. Free T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 400 registrants.

Race-day registration will begin at 7 a.m. at the Rodgers Recreation Center, located at 167 Webster St. The race will be held rain or shine. There are no refunds. Timing and scoring provided by Organization Plus Road Race Management Services.
Advance Number/T-Shirt Pickup
Participants may register and pick up T-shirts and race numbers in advance from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 in the Office of University Relations, located in Ochre Court, Room 312 (third floor). Participants may pick up numbers for family and/or friends, but should be sure to give them the number assigned to their name. Names will be written on the back of the race numbers.
Kids' Fun Run
Day-of-race registration for the free kids race will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday in the Rodgers Recreation Center. All pre-registered entrants can pick up their numbers Saturday morning. The race will begin at 8 a.m. in the same location as the 5K, on Webster Street. The course is out-and-back, approximately a half-mile total. Parents are welcome to participate with young children. Medals will be awarded to every finisher and a trophy to the overall winner.
Prizes
- $150 for the first-place male and female (plus trophy)
- $100 for the second-place male and female (plus trophy)
- $50 for the third-place male and female (plus trophy)
- Trophies awarded to the top finishers in each age group (Under 19, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over)
Parking
Road race participants are free to park in any available designated parking areas on the Salve Regina campus. Lots at Miley Hall, Ochre Court, Rodgers Recreation Center, Munroe Center and O'Hare Academic Center will all be open and within close proximity to registration. There is also street parking available along Ochre Point, Leroy and Shepard avenues.
Rules
While participants are permitted to run or walk with baby joggers, they will not be allowed through the finishing chute. Participants with baby joggers will be directed to the outside of the finishing chute and their time will not be recorded. Dogs or other pets are not allowed on the course.

Proceeds
Proceeds from Salve Regina's Mansion Run and Walk support Friends of Seahawk Athletics, which is comprised of Salve Regina alumni, parents and friends who have a special affinity for our 18 intercollegiate athletic teams and the role that athletics play in the community.
