Salve Moves to New Course Management System

Over the next few months, Salve Regina University will be transitioning from WebCT, our current course management system, to My WebCourses, our new system. We had a successful pilot of the new system during the Spring 2008 semester. Beginning with the Summer I session, all our courses will begin to migrate to the new system so that by Spring 2009 the entire University will be using the new system.

Some of the Online Studies courses will be using the system this summer, and the Online Self-paced courses will move to the new system in July. Your course access notifications will direct you to the appropriate system for your course.

Please watch for announcements, updates to training materials, and more information on the system coming soon to this website.

Grading Policy Update for Self-paced Courses

The grading policy for self-paced courses has been updated to reflect the University grading policy for on-campus courses. All course work must be submitted by the end date of the course. If not, the course will be put into an "NG" or no grade status. If not resolved within 60 days, the "NG" will automatically be changed to an actual "F" grade.

If you are unable to complete your coursework by this date, you have the following options:

  1. You may request an Incomplete. Send an e-mail to onlinestudies@salve.edu requesting an incomplete before the end date of your course. Include the circumstances for the request. There is a course continuation fee of $150.00. If the request is approved, you will be issued a grade of "I." You will be given an additional 4 months from the original end date to complete the coursework. However, if you choose this option, you MUST complete the course by the new deadline or, by University policy, the "I" will automatically be changed to an "F" on your transcript. You lose the option to withdraw from a course once you request an incomplete.
  2. You may request to be Withdrawn from the course. If you choose not to request an incomplete, you can request a withdrawal from the course. This request must be e-mailed to onlinestudies@salve.edu before the end date of your course. Once the request has been received, a grade of "W" will be issued for the course.

Please refer to the graduate catalog for more information concerning Salve Regina University's grading policies.
