GUIDELINES/JOIN

MEMBERSHIP

Anyone 50 years of age and older is eligible to join the Circle. There are no residence or formal education requirements. What is expected is a strong desire to learn, to explore new fields of knowledge and to meet new people. There is a membership fee of $40 for an individual or $65 for a couple. Additionally, members are charged up to $40 for seminars, which meet once a week for two to eight weeks.

BENEFITS

All members become part of the Salve Regina learning community. They are entitled to use the McKillop Library and the computer labs. Library cards can be issued to members upon request. Members receive a parking pass and are encouraged to attend theater productions, Pell Center lectures and the monthly concerts at Carey Mansion.

The most important benefit to members is eligibility for the numerous seminars offered in the course of the academic year. Members will find not only qualified instructors, but also enthusiastic classmates who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the seminars. That mixture offers the best situation for stimulating study. Seminars carry no credit or exams, although some instructors may suggest a text or research for maximum benefit.

In addition to learning, there are two worthwhile social events during the year - the Christmas reception and the luncheon following the annual meeting.

JOIN THE CIRCLE

A year's membership in the Circle is $40 or $65 per couple. Only members may register for seminars, which range from $10 to $40 per seminar and usually run for two to eight weeks.

Seminars are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions start in late September and early February. The usual timeframe for seminars is once a week Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. To join the Circle or to obtain more information on current seminars, call (401) 341-2120 or e-mail questions to Kate Borgueta.
