ALCOHOL AWARENESS EVENTS October 3 – Linda Chaves, an Emergency Room nurse at Newport Hospital, will offer two presentations (2:30pm and 7pm) in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall. Linda speaks honestly about the dangers associated with alcohol consumption and the risks they pose to young adults. This program is sponsored by the New Student Seminar and the Office of Student Life. September 18th - Gordie Day!
The Gordie Foundation is dedicated to the memory of Gordie Bailey, who was an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Colorado when he died of alcohol poisoning as a result of a fraternity initiation ceremony for pledges
on September 17, 2004. The mission of the Gordie Foundation is to provide today’s youth with the skills to navigate the dangers of alcohol, and through education and promotion of self worth prevent alcohol poisoning, binge drinking and hazing. Salve Regina University has become a new chapter member of the Gordie Foundation called a “Circle of Trust.” The Alumni Office, Student Life, and Residential Life will be sponsoring a variety of alcohol prevention exercises in front of Rogers Recreation from 11am to 1:30pm.
