Major Richard Jaques has served as an officer and attorney in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 15 years and is licensed to practice law by the State of New Hampshire. During his military career, Major Jaques has served in a wide variety of operational and legal assignments, including duty as a military prosecutor and defense counsel, legal advisor for Marine Corps units deployed in support of Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Commanding Officer for a Naval Provisional Rifle Company, Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Headquarters, and as the Staff Secretary, Marine Corps University, Training and Education Command. He is a graduate of the USMC Command and Staff College and is currently assigned as a Professor of International Law at the United States Naval War College.
