The Pell Center promotes the primary objectives of Sen. Claiborne Pell's decades of public service: Enhancing international dialogue to achieve a more peaceful world and preparing individuals for an informed and active role in local, national and world affairs.
The Director of the Center may recommend to the University President that an individual be appointed as a Visiting Fellow in residence at the Pell Center. Visiting Fellows must apply to the Director for the position and provide a description of the activities they wish to undertake while in residence at the Center. Visiting Fellows are expected to engage full-time in research and writing while at the Center, to offer public lectures to the University community about the subjects of their research and/or writing, and to participate in other Center activities. Residence can range from periods of as little as a month to a maximum of six months. Individuals with recent experience in public policy positions nationally or internationally are encouraged to apply for positions as Visiting Fellows. Visiting Fellows report to the Director of the Pell Center.
