Criteria for Admission

Pell Scholars are among the highest caliber students at Salve Regina. The applicant pool is highly competitive and consists of outstanding students seeking motivated peers with the potential to succeed.

The Pell Honors Program is an outreach effort to recruit and retain exceptional students. The program is designed to recognize those high school students who rank in the top of the fall freshman class. Students in this elite cohort typically have strong high school GPAs and SAT scores and may have supplemented preparation with honors, AP and/or IB courses.

Salve Regina's Office of Admissions indentifies these candidates during the application process and invites them to apply to the program. By mid-April, those admitted into the program are notified by mail. At the beginning of the fall semester, recognition is bestowed and information is provided concerning a number of advanced opportunities designed for high ability students, such as internships and study abroad courses.
