FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How is my time to select a room determined?
A: All participants’ names are randomly selected by next
year’s class standing. In the draw, a name will be
picked and assigned the first time. The next name
will be picked and given the second time until all
members of that class standing group have been
selected. The date and time is recorded on a room
draw card and sent to the student through his/her
campus mailbox.
Q: What happens if I don't have enough roommates to
fill a room?
A: There will probably be other people in the same position
and perhaps you can join together to fill a room
of your choice. The staff in the Office of Residential Life will help
to introduce people in this situation but the choice
will ultimately be yours as to what to do. It will be
important that you continue to consider lifestyles
when making quick decisions about roommates.
Q: How do I make sure my intended roommate gets to
pick the same room as I do?
A: When you select a room in the draw, you will need to
bring with you the ID and room draw card of your
roommate choice along with your own. That roommate
will then be put into that space with you to fill
the room. Remember: make sure that when you sign
up for a room that you fill it. The one with the best
room draw time should be the one to do the selection
for the group to get your choice.
Q: How will I know what building I want to reside in
if I haven't seen it?
A: There will be two open houses held for sophomores
to view rooms.
