BEFORE YOU BEGIN

The Office of Residential Life would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Salve Regina University community. We are looking forward to your arrival in the fall. This web page contains useful information you may reference when accessing or completing the on-line New Student Housing Application. The completion of this on-line form will initiate your campus housing assignment process.

The on-line application is available for you to access between May 5th and July 2st. During that period you will be able to access and modify the application by following the directions contained in this letter.

On July 2nd the information contained in the application will be entered into our assignment software. During the month of July the data will be used to make your assignment and select your roommate. All requests are granted based on the date the Office of Admissions receives your commitment deposit. The earlier you place your deposit the better chance you have of getting your room request.

GETTING STARTED

To begin, locate your personal "PINCODE" from the letter. This code is unique for each student and if unavailable must be requested by contacting the Office of Residential Life.

I. Enter the PINCODE

In the field provided, carefully enter the PINCODE.

  • Press the GO button.

I. Step One: Confirm Contact Information

The contact information is taken from the data received by the Office of Admissions upon your application approval and date of deposit.

If any of the information displayed is not correct please contact the Office of Admissions via sruadmis@salve.edu.

In the fields provided, enter a contact e-mail address and mobile phone. These fields are required and will not be used for any purposes other than to assist the Office of Residential Life to support your application during the period of entry until July 2.

  • Press the Continue button.

II. Step Two: Questions

  • Roommate Matching Questions:

Please select a response (Yes/No) from the drop-down for each question. The results from these questions are integral into determining an appropriate match for your roommates.

  • Quiet Floor:
  • A 24 hour quiet floor is a strictly enforced 24 hour quiet area.  All of our residence halls have 24 courtesy hours and 9pm to 9am quiet hours.  If we can not fill an entire floor or wing with 24 hour quiet hour students than then those individuals will be placed with in a block of rooms.

Indicate your preference for this selection by choosing the appropriate option (Yes/No).

  • Preferred Room Type and Building

For preferred room type, the options are: Double, Triple, Quad.

For preferred building, the options are Hunt, Miley, New Residence, and Reefe.

Please be aware that there are four freshman residence halls.

Miley Hall has, (91) doubles, (2) quads.

    Hunt/Reefe has, (68) triples, (9) quads.

New Residence has, (60) doubles, (4) triples and (8) quads.

If you should have any questions about campus housing please feel free to call the Office of Residential Life at 401-341-2210.

  • Special Medical Needs:

A medical needs housing request is considered on case by case basis.  The requests are considered and granted based on the needs of the individual and whether the university has appropriate space that meets those needs.  Please download the medical request form, have your doctor fill it out and send it, along with any other appropriate paperwork, to the Office of Residential Life by July 2, 2008.

Indicate your preference for this selection by choosing the appropriate option (Yes/No).

If Yes, you will be asked to download, complete and submit to the office of Residential Life a SRU Medical Needs form.

  • Press the Continue button.

III. Step Three: Selecting Roommates

Before choosing roommates (up to three), we recommend contacting each potential roommate to acquire their full name prior to completing this step.

In order for a roommate match to occur, BOTH YOU AND THE ROOMMATES MUST SELECT EACH OTHER using the forms of this step.

  • Enter the "First" and "Last" name in the fields provided and press the Continue button.

If you choose to press the FINALIZE button instead your application process will skip this step. You may return to this step at a later date using the "Manage My Form" section.

Choose the name from the results and move on by selecting the "Select a second roommate" button.

  • Proceed until you have selected three roommates.

After choosing the third roommate, you may review your completed form.

After completing the form process you may return and modify any step of the process by visiting http://www.salve.edu/housingform and entering the PINCODE.

If you should have any questions about campus housing please feel free to call the Office of Residential Life at 401-341-2210.
