University Computer Labs

The University Computer Labs (UCL) support the mission and goals of Salve Regina University in the computer laboratory environment by providing computer support for students and their instructional computing needs, for faculty in their efforts to develop and use appropriate computing resources for academic needs, and for administrative departments via workshops, telephone, and on-site services for application programs.

The objectives of the UCL are to provide the necessary resources and services to support the curriculum through the use of technology to the Salve Regina University community.

The UCL manages eight computer classrooms, including a 'drop-in' computer room and multi-media services, located primarily on the garden level of the McKillop Library. All areas combined, located in McKillop, O’Hare, Mercy, and Wetmore, house over 200 workstations in four PC labs, the PC 'drop-in' room, two Mac Labs, and a Mac digital photo lab. All machines have Internet access and printing capabilities.

The labs are open seven days for 92 hours per week throughout the semester. Students will be required to follow a code of ethics for computing, and to login with their Salve Regina issued network ID. Professional staff and student lab monitors are available during all UCL operating hours to assist you.

Schedules indicating availability will be posted outside of each lab. Questions relating to the schedules are to be addressed to the lab staff (room 002). Labs are used for formal teaching, supporting curricula, and individual learning assignments. Utmost attention is paid to making the labs and their resources available for student needs. The following base software is now present in each of these labs. For additional information please contact the UCL staff at x2985.
