TELECOMMUNICATIONS QUESTIONS

What is my password?
All voice mail boxes were set up with the 4 digit extension as the default password. Users are encouraged to change their password periodically and keep it private.

What should I do if my phone does not work?
Call the Telecommunications hotline x3333 and give your name, dorm, room, extension number, plus a brief description of the trouble. We will try to fix your phone within 24 hours.

Will my phone work in another jack in the room?
No, your phone extension is programmed to the current jack. Physically moving your phone will disrupt your service.

How do I access my voicemail from off campus?
To retrieve your voice mail from off campus, dial (401) 341-2949 and follow the prompts.

How do I reset my password to retrieve messages?
If the wrong password is entered three times, the system will disable the phone but it will reset in one hour. If the password has been changed without your knowledge and needs to be reset, call x3333 and we will change it back to the extension number.

What are the switchboard hours? Is it possible to receive outside calls without going through the operator?
The Salve operator is on duty from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. People may reach you by dialing directly if they dial 401-341-Extension.
