If you have a problem with an HP Laptop that needs either warranty repair or re-imaging to repair a system that’s been corrupted with a virus, worm or Spyware, you may bring your computer to the McKillop Library Room 008. Any questions regarding the Laptop Program (hardware, software, or other) should be directed to the Information Technology Office either by phone (401) 341-7873 or email at laptops@salve.edu.
If your computer is anything other than the recommended system, you may bring it to the Computopia Service Desk located at the Student Laptop Center in McKillop Library Room 008 or call (341-2149). The service company will make any hardware or software repairs, all at the student’s cost. A rate card for computer services is posted at the repair desk. This arrangement is directly between the student and the outside company, CompUtopia of Warwick, RI, and does not involve Salve Regina University. You will be required to pay for the services before you can retrieve your repaired computer. You can also call your Computer Manufacture and talk to there technical support to see if they can help you fix your problem.
Note: If you bring your computer to McKillop Library Room 008 for repair by CompUtopia, please bring the manufacturer’s Restore CD-ROM’s that were shipped with your computer.
