YOUR GATEWAY TO SUCCESS Staff
A lifelong resident of Aquidneck Island, Julie is a graduate of Rhode Island College. She joined the Career Development Center in 2001 and assumed the position of Interim Director in July 2007. Prior to joining us at Salve Regina University, Julie was employed as a Sales Planning Manager, Senior Business Manager, Product Manager, Forecast Analyst, and Contract Administrator in the consumer products, financial services, and defense contracting industries. In addition to her managerial duties in the office, Julie counsels freshmen and sophomore students, coordinates our internship program, and ensures that our on-line services tool runs smoothly.
A new addition to our department, Veronica was previously a Career Counselor at Rhode Island College. She holds a Master’s degree in Agency Counseling from Rhode Island College and received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. Veronica works with juniors and seniors, providing class presentations, individual career counseling, and résumé critiques. She also serves as our Rhode Island Consortium for Educators (RICE) liaison.
Chris heads up our employer relations and advises upperclassmen on the many areas of career development. He collaborates with faculty and staff to build relationships with private, public and non-profit organizations to offer students and alumni an array of internship and employment opportunities. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond and is pursuing a Masters of Public Administration from Roger Williams University.
Darlene oversees the university's Federal Work Study Program, coordinates job listings for on and off-campus work study opportunities, and keeps our office running smoothly. She acts as a liaison between non-profit agencies to ensure off-campus sites meet Federal guidelines and maintains membership in the Northeast Association of Student Employment Administrators (NEASEA). Darlene also organizes the university’s Student Employment Week and plans our supervisor reception and Work Study appreciation activities. Darlene has been with Salve Regina since 1995.
