Where Do I Go from Here?

What can the Academic Advising office do to help?

The academic advising office is here to help you through your academic career at Salve Regina. Whether you are having difficulty in several courses, or in just one area, we can provide you with advice and assistance in connecting you with staff, faculty and/or fellow students that may help you to overcome the obstacles you are experiencing.

What can I do to get back on track?

The first step you need to take is to gather all the information you can about your individual academic situation. Once you have looked at your academic situation, then you need to develop a plan to return to good academic standing for the next semester. The following tips will help you get started:

  • Assess the severity of your grade point deficit. Are your difficulties a result of one poor semester or is there a trend that led to your current GPA deficit?
  • Find out what courses you should be taking (or retaking).
  • Be conscious of the grades you must work for in order to clear probationary status.
  • Create a routine for studying that will provide you with the structure and stability you need to improve your academic standing.

The intention of this website is offer you a place to access information about what to do when you are experiencing academic difficulty and to present you with some tactics that might help you improve. It does not serve as a replacement for individual academic advising or connecting with other faculty and staff.
