NEWPORT, R.I. - The first "SRyou: Student Expo 2010" will be held Friday, March 26. Sessions of poster presentations, performances and exhibitions featuring the work of students will be held throughout the day, which will also include a special breakfast and lunch in the Miley cafeteria and a closing reception in Ochre Court.

More than 50 proposals were submitted for SRyou, and more than 225 students will participate in Friday's event. Classes will be suspended from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday so that students may attend the exposition.
Fifteen academic departments will be represented Friday, including Art, Biology and Biomedical Sciences, Business Studies and Economics, Chemistry, Cultural and Historic Preservation, Education, English, History, Mathematical Sciences, Nursing, Performing Arts, Political Science, Psychology, Religious and Theological Studies and Social Work.
Student clubs, ensembles and groups participating include the American Marketing Association, American Sign Language Club, Best Buddies, Extensions Dance Company, New Student Seminar mentors, Pitches with Attitude, Sigma Phi Sigma, Social Work Club, Student Nurse Organization, The Union and VIA.
SRyou was organized by a student planning board that included Jaimee Doucette '11, Kelsey Fitzgibbons '11, Katherine Jedynasty '11, David Miller '10, Gregory Morrison '10, Kelly Mustone '10, Jacquelyn Sawn '12, Fae Stone '11, Emma Taylor '11, Sarah Tolman '12, Erin Vardaro '10 and Nicole Voci '12.
