Students honored for achievements at Business Awards Night

NEWPORT, R.I. – Stacey Carter, regional director of the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center, was the guest speaker at Salve Regina’s Business Awards Night on April 16, during which dozens of students were honored for their achievements.
 
Carter was also presented with the 2010 Sigma Beta Delta Leadership Award for her work with students serving in internship positions. The event, hosted by the business studies and economics department, was held in Bazarsky Lecture Hall, located in O’Hare Academic Center on Salve Regina’s campus.
 
Alpha Mu Alpha, a marketing honor society, inducted 22 members and Sigma Beta Delta, a national business honor society, inducted 27 undergraduates and 19 graduate students.
 
Special recognition was given to students who presented papers at conferences in India and Beijing, to students who have become certified in three or more Microsoft applications programs, and to leaders of academic clubs.
