NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University will host the Northeast Section of the Mathematical Association of America’s Spring 2010 Meeting June 11-12.
The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is the largest professional society that focuses on undergraduate mathematics education. Its members include university, college and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and many others in academia, government, business, and industry.
Undergraduate students representing Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and the four Canadian Provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island will present short talks on topics in mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
Their presentations will focus on their expository work, research projects, employment experiences, and/or problems from mathematical periodicals.
