NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina graduate Lois Wims, former administration of justice professor and department chair, has been appointed dean of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
Wims, the first female police officer in Central Falls history, received her master of science degree in criminal justice from Salve Regina, and later served as assistant professor in the administration of justice department from 1989-1994. In 1997, she was appointed chair of the department.
Since 2002, she has served as the associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Alabama.
