NEWPORT, R.I. – The Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy’s second roundtable lunch for the spring semester will focus on a question posed by Washington Post columnist David Ignatius: What does American “strength” mean in the 21st century?
“Is it a recovery of the kind of power and prerogative the United States had, say, in the Ronald Reagan years? Or is it something more aligned with changes in the global balance?” Ignatius wrote.
The roundtable will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 in the Ochre Court library, located on the first floor.
Members of the Salve Regina University community are invited to the discussion, which will be led by Dr. James M. Ludes, Pell Center executive director and Dr. William Leeman, assistant professor of history.
Seating is limited to 15 members of the Salve Regina community, so those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by Monday, Feb. 13 to pellcenter@salve.edu.
The Pell Center Roundtable lunch series was developed to explore emerging issues in a small group setting and is intended to encourage an exchange of views.
