NEWPORT, R.I. – The public won’t be asked to sing for their suppers, but Salve Regina University’s choral group, the Madrigals, will be more than happy to do for them when they host their 13th annual Cabaret Dinner at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25.
“Fun, Food and Follies” is the theme for the event, open to the public, which will be held in Ochre Court, 100 Ochre Point Ave. Admission is $30 per person and $15 for students on the university meal plan and for children under 12.
The evening will feature the Madrigals both serving dinner and performing solos and duets from popular and music theater repertoire.
Proceeds will benefit the Madrigals and University Chorus concert tour fund, which supports travel to performances in major cities within the United States and abroad. Past trips have included Montreal, Ireland and Italy.
Guests may choose from one of three entrees: Baked stuffed sole with lobster sauce; marinated grilled chicken with sundried tomatoes and caramelized onion cream sauce; or vegetarian portabella napoleon. All dinners are served with garden fresh vegetables, a dessert of miniature pastries with fresh berries and coffee or tea.
