NEWPORT, R.I. – In recognition of the United Nations International Day of Peace, Salve Regina’s graduate programs in Holistic Studies and Expressive Arts is inviting the public to join in a “Moment for Peace” celebration on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Young Building, corner of Bellevue and Ruggles avenues.
The free community event is being led by Christopher and Katherine Carbone. Christopher is lecturer and program coordinator for the university’s expressive and creative arts, and holistic studies graduate programs. Katherine is a certified instructor of Kripalu yoga, Yoga of the Heart, dance meditation and an energy healing Reiki master.
The event will include group mandala, walking meditation and moments of reflection to promote the cause of peace from within, to the community and to the planet. No experience is necessary.
