SRU Dance presents spring performance April 12-13

Salve Regina’s student-run dance organization, SRU Dance, will present its spring performance, “Work Hard, Play Hard,” on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13 in the Rodgers Recreation Center.

This spring’s performance will include 26 dances in styles of tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, modern, and Irish step. This semester, the club boasts more than 120 performers, who will dance to the music of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, John Legend, Jason Durelo, Justin Timberlake and more.

Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Admission to Saturday’s performance is at least a $1 donation to the Andrea Rizzo Foundation, while admission to Sunday’s performance is $5. At both shows, children young enough to sit on an adult’s lap are admitted free.

A Salve Regina graduate, Andrea Rizzo was tragically killed by a drunk driver at age 24. The foundation established in her name raises money for children’s cancer research through dance therapy programs. The members of SRU Dance continue to support “Drea’s Dream” and help the foundation in any way they can. Last semester, SRU Dance raised more than $1,200 for the cause.
