There are several ways to make an appointment:
- Stop by the office, located on the garden level of Miley Hall, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the academic year.
- Call (401) 341-2919 and speak with the office coordinator or leave a message.
- Send an e-mail including your name and cell phone number to counselingservices@salve.edu. Please note that this e-mail address is not confidential and is not monitored 24 hours a day.
An appointment will be scheduled and notification will be sent to the student's salve.edu e-mail address. On the day of the first appointment, please arrive 5-10 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork.

What to Do in a Mental Health Emergency
During business hours, contact Counseling Services. Outside of business hours, contact the Office of Safety and Security at (401) 341-2325 and they will take the appropriate action, which may include consultation with Counseling Services staff. You may also call 911 or proceed to the Newport Hospital emergency room at 19 Friendship St.
