Health Services

Health Services seeks to encourage good health practices and provide clinical care and disease prevention programs for all members of the Salve Regina community. We offer a variety of services, including acute care for illnesses and minor accidents, chronic care for individuals with conditions that require monitoring, immunizations, laboratory testing, pharmacy delivery, specialist referrals, women's health and health education.

All full and part-time undergraduate students are eligible to utilize Health Services. Faculty and staff are welcome for minor acute problems that occur during work hours.

Most primary care services are free for full-time students, although students are responsible for the cost of prescription drugs, immunizations and some medical supplies. Students should bring their Salve Regina ID and proof of prescription insurance to all visits.

Health Services works in conjunction with Newport Hospital to assist students during non-office hours. In emergency situations, students should go to the Newport Hospital emergency department or call 911 or the University's emergency line at (401) 341-2325.

Health information is confidential and cannot be released without written permission, except upon court order, as required by law or as required, in our judgment, to protect you or others from immediate physical danger.
