Resident Assistants are students who represent the Office of Residential Life as a key staff member. Each RA is assigned to a floor, wing or house and is responsible for 15-40 residents. RAs serve as informational resources and peer counselors, provide educational, cultural and social programming for all residents, and enforce community standards.
Together with professional staff members known as area coordinators, RAs work with students to create and maintain a residence hall atmosphere that fosters meaningful educational opportunities as well as valuable personal growth experiences. In addition to obtaining course credit, RAs complete an extensive program designed to develop valuable interpersonal and organizational skills.
Resident Assistants are selected each winter for the following academic year, and receive free room and board along with a biweekly stipend. Students who are interested in serving as RAs must be currently enrolled full-time students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 and must be in good judicial standing with the University.
Current students who are interested in serving as RAs should consult the Residential Life section of MySalve. User questions regarding MySalve access should be directed to the Help Desk at helpdesk@salve.edu.
