Surfing at Salve
For Ryan Carney ’11, Bobby Forster ’11 and Sam Stimson ’11, one of Salve Regina’s greatest perks is the opportunity to participate in Newport’s thriving surf scene. The University’s close proximity to several surf spots, including the legendary East Coast break Ruggles, led the editors at Transworld Surf magazine – the Bible for ardent surfers – to peg Salve Regina in its Top 10 Surf Colleges in America in November 2008.
