
Reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with wine compliments of Newport Vineyards, traditional French music by accordionist Renata Adams and a chance to win a basket of French-made products offered by French Source. The feature film, "Ne le dis a personnes/Tell No One," will begin at 7 p.m.
The French Consulate of Boston will posthumously award a Palme académique in recognition of the contributions of the late Sister Eugena Poulin, a French professor at Salve Regina for more than 20 years.
Alliance Francaise de Newport and Sodexo Campus Services will sponsor a reception following the 2 p.m. screening of "Moliere," featuring wine, light refreshments and music from "Airplay," a duo comprised of flutist Gianna Sullivan and guitarist Dennis Costa.
Coffee will be served on closing night, prior to the 7 p.m. screening of "Un baiser s'il vous plait/Shall We Kiss?"
La chanson francaise, or French song, is a tradition that dates back to the troubadours of the Middle Ages. Recordings from selected contemporary musicians associated with la nouvelle chanson francaise will be featured prior to each film screening.
