Dr. Laura Tedesco, cultural heritage program manager for the U.S. Department of State, will discuss "United States Public Diplomacy and Cultural Heritage Preservation in Afghanistan." She will address the importance of cultural and historic preservation in U.S. diplomacy, as well as her experiences in the field.

Tedesco oversees State Department-supported projects to protect and preserve important cultural heritage sites, archaeological sites and monuments in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and a number of former Soviet republics.
