HOODING CEREMONY AND BACCALAUREATE MASS Graduating seniors intending to participate in the Baccalaureate Mass on Saturday, May 17 at 3:30 pm must be in the O’Hare Academic Center by 2:30 pm. The Hooding Ceremony, which is a Salve Regina University tradition, is a notable part of this liturgy. Each baccalaureate candidate will receive a hood. The hoods are a sign of academic achievement and the trim of the hood signifies the degree earned. White trimmed hoods are the Bachelor of Arts. Yellow trimmed hoods are the Bachelor of Sciences and the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences Degrees. The hoods are lined in blue and white to represent the school colors. The Baccalaureate Mass will begin once graduates have received their hoods. Graduates who were unable to attend this Liturgy, may pick up their hoods in O’Hare Room 106 on Sunday morning between the hours of 7:00-8:00 am. Hoods must be worn at Commencement. Although Associate Degree Candidates do not receive hoods, they are invited to attend the Baccalaureate Eucharist. Graduates participating in the Baccalaureate Mass must be seated in the O'Hare Academic Center by 2:30 pm, so we ask that you arrange your plans for lunch or other activities accordingly.
