Salve Regina University

FAQ's

Does the team play at the Tennis Hall of Fame?

Salve Regina hosts an annual tournament at the Newport Casino, home of the International Tennis Hall of Fame (http://www.tennisfame.org) where we enjoy doubles action on the grass courts. Our home dual matches are played on six outdoor hard courts at Leroy Avenue. Indoor workouts take place at the Newport Casino as well.

Do you offer scholarships?

As a member of the NCAA Division III, we adhere to the philosophy of "academics before athletics." Financial aid is offered on a need basis, no athletic scholarships are offered. However, qualified students are eligible for merit scholarships based on academics. Visit our admissions area on the web for more information about academic scholarships.

When do you play?

Our women's tennis schedule consists of 10 to 12 dual matches in the fall and six to eight matches in the spring. We also participate in a number of tournaments including the Women's Grass Court Doubles (Hall of Fame), ITA Regionals, New England Women's Division III Invitational Tennis Tournament (NEWITT), and our conference tournament. Our spring schedule includes tournament and dual match play as well as travel to warm weather locations

Do you travel for Spring Break?

In the spring, we have traveled to Hilton Head Island, Orlando and Puerto Rico for out of region competition as well as opportunities to develop each player's game. In addition to our own divisional opponents, our competition has included Division I and II schools.
