FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: Do you have off-season training? A: During the first semester, student-athletes not playing a fall sport will have the opportunity to practice and compete on the softball diamond. The primary focus will be on skill development, weight-lifting and conditioning. The weight-lifting and conditioning programs are enhanced with the addition of the new Rodgers Recreation Center. There's an indoor batting cage in the new facility. Q: Do you offer scholarships? A: As a member of the NCAA Division III, we adhere to the philosophy of "academics before athletics." Financial aid is offered on a need basis, no athletic scholarships are offered. However, qualified students are eligible for merit scholarships based on academics. Visit our admissions area on the web for more information about academic scholarships. Q: What's your schedule like? A: This season, the softball team will compete in over 35 contests. We will kick off our softball schedule in Fort Myers, Florida (Spring training home of the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins) where play ten games in the "Gene Cusic Classic." All of our league games are doubleheaders and we end with a double-elimination conference tournament. The champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Softball Tournament.
